BREAD AND ROSES (book and lyrics by Jill, music by Brad Alexander) is an adaptation of the 2000 film by Paul Laverty, directed by Ken Loach. It’s inspired by the true events of the Justice for Janitors campaign and subsequent uprisings and unionization. The show had a private reading in fall of 2014 at New York SongSpace. It was a semi-finalist for the 2015 NAMT festival and will be given a staged reading in the 2016 NYMF festival.
