“What They Never Tell You” from IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU (lyrics by Jill, music by Barbara Anselmi) was written during the show’s early development and remained in the production through its Broadway run and publication by Music Theatre International. Performed by Tyne Daly, who sang it to her daughter, played by Lisa Howard, at a pivotal moment in the second act.
